Decalogue Statement on Release of Remaining Hostages

The Decalogue Society of Lawyers welcomes with profound relief and gratitude the release of the remaining Israeli hostages. For two years, these individuals and their families have endured unimaginable horror and suffering at the hands of Hamas terrorists, whose barbaric and inexcusable actions on October 7, 2023, sparked the ongoing conflict. Today, our hearts are with the freed hostages as they begin the long and difficult journey toward healing.

At this painful and emotional moment, we also mourn the countless lives lost and affected by this conflict—Israeli and Palestinian alike—and reaffirm our unwavering hope for a future in which peace, dignity, and security are guaranteed for all people across the Middle East. A lasting and just peace must rest not only on an end to violence but on mutual recognition, justice, and the protection of human rights for all.

We urge all parties to continue working toward an enduring resolution that ends suffering, upholds the rule of law, and secures a future free from terror and fear
